Massage is the most ancient healing art. It has been practiced in almost every country for centuries. It is a powerful manipulation of the body that makes us feel better. Every culture needs massage and everyone desires more and more relaxation in the midst of his or her life. Massage comes in different forms and they differ in quality, form and technique. In the European world, it is said that the Europeans introduced massage in the 1960s and it is known as massage therapy; in China it is  external massage therapy; several Asian countries and parts of the Middle East prefer to call it Asian massage; and in Japan, it is called Shiatsu massage. It has become a worldwide phenomenon. A massage is a performance that involves movement of the whole person sensing and motor system. The study of biology, physiology and other sciences have helped to develop this healing art at the same time as the popularity of massage has increased. The process of massage requires rigid training and practice as with any other art.

Customers are attracted to massage because it helps to relieve stress, improve health and well-being.  Starting a massage business requires you to have the appropriate hotel or facility. The financial issue definitely is an issue, especially if you are a first-time business owner. You can start with 2 to 5 masseuses. Massage business is not law enforceable business, as a therapist has to be certified to perform a massage.

It is obvious that the massage industry is one of the fastest growing markets in the United States and the world, with new medical treatments concerning the body appearing almost daily. If you have the desire and commitment to start your own massage business, there is a thriving market for you - definitely has opportunity for newcomers.
